The Year 5/6 teacher is Mr. Miller

This half term our topic will be ‘Revolution’. We will be learning about life in Victorian times. Please follow the link below to see an overview of the work that will be covered.

In addition to class work, pupils will also be expected to carry out work at home during the week. Homework will consist of topic related work and/ or numeracy and literacy work. In addition to this, pupils will be given weekly spellings to learn. These will be based on results from a recent spelling assessment. I would like pupils to write out their words as part of a sentence to ensure understanding of the words.

Learning Logs will need to be in school on Wednesdays. New homework will then be given out on Fridays. A big effort will be made this year on presentation of work in class. I would be grateful if you could make sure that your child takes pride in the work that they do in their Learning Logs.

During the autumn term, pupils will be swimming on a Friday afternoon. Additional P.E. lessons will take place on either a Wednesday or Thursday. Please ensure that your child has a suitable change of clothes in school on these days. They may also wish to wear tracksuit bottoms and a jumper during the winter months.

If you have any questions or concerns throughout the term, please do not hesitate see me. I look forward to a successful and enjoyable time with class 5/6!

Kind regards,

Mr. D. Miller
